Day 1. A float trip through Bulkley canyon
This rafting trip takes you through some class III+ rapids that are plenty big to get your heart pumping, but safe enough you won't fall in. We will launch our raft on the Bulkley River right at our property, a stone's throw from your cabin. The Bulkley quickly falls into a deep remote Canyon that is stunning, with steep granite walls and beautiful views of the valley. This has been our most popular trip for many years. The big highlights of this trip are stopping at the fossil beds, learning the geology of the river and the endless beautiful scenic views that create the ultimate in serenity - great for all ages.
The rafting is wonderful but the topper is our gourmet lunch at our remote, midway point outdoor kitchen and BBQ set up. We are famous for our outdoor eating spaces, and this remote kitchen truly appears out of nowhere within the canyon walls. This picturesque, riverside dining spot is a worthy addition in even the most curated instagram accounts. This entire float is a photographers dream.
Day 2. Grand Trunk Pacific Jet Boat Tour
This adventure starts right from the lodge just a stone's throw from your cabin. With our raft trip of course heading down river from lodge, this ride heads up river. The 64 km one way-trip uses one of our passenger vessels, and although it is capable of traveling in just 2 inches of water, this jet boat ride is relaxed. This is great for the travelers who seek a scenic experience and aren’t interested in whitewater jet boating like on our Canyon round-trip tours. The Bulkley Valley has abundant wildlife, pristine wilderness and an interesting history with Canadas oldest railway. This jet boat tour is memorable for all ages and a great way to see the stunning Bulkley Valley. Lunch is provided riverside
The Grand Trunk Pacific (as the railroad was called back than) was started in 1908, and construction started from both ends at the same time - Winnipeg and Prince Rupert. By 1912 it was running in our area here in the Bulkley valley. Follow the exact track that was laid over 100 years ago via jet boat while learning the history and enjoying the wonderful scenic views along the way.
Day 3. Guided Day of Fishing
Trout fishing rainbow alley, one of our local lakes or salmon fishing the Skeena system. An excellent fishery for beginners or experienced anglers. At Frontier Experience we have everything you could possibly need on the water available for your use. We have waders and wading boots, Rods, reels, lines, tippets and flies. They are all supplied to your guide by the lodge for your convenience. However if you would like to bring your own gear let us know and we can help advise on what to bring.
We have a wide variety of fishing options for guests. If you have never fly fished in your life we have spots where you can catch small trout all day long while you learn. If you have fished a few times and want to pick up where you left off we will venture to Rainbow Alley which is northern BC's best trout river. If Salmon you want to go harvest a salmon and have it for dinner that night we will make the effort to do so.
